Position Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a junior security specialist for our newly formed direct to consumer auto insurance company. The Security Specialist will be responsible for computer security and data security measures throughout the company.
Responsibilites include:
*Ensure compliance with PCI and other bank transaction data security requirements
*Train users and promote security awareness
*Develop plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs
*Analyze and diagnose firewall configuration and logs for compliance
*Examine router and switch config files for security flaws
*Examine Server and hardware audit logs for intrusion detection and prevention
*Confer with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes
*Modify computer security files to incorporate new software, correct errors, or change individual access status
*Monitor use of data files and regulate access to safeguard information in computer files
*Perform risk assessments and execute tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures
*Encrypt data transmissions or storage as appropriate
*Document computer security and emergency measures policies, procedures, and tests
*Review violations of computer security procedures and discuss procedures with violators to ensure violations are not repeated
Required experience:
The Security Specialist will report to the Infrastructure Manager and should have 2 years of experience in security. A bachelor's degree is preferred. If the candidate has fewer than 2 years experience, a bachelor's degree in computer science is required.
