F/T Financial Services Officer

Position Description:
Act in a member sales and loan service capacity to maintain member relationships, maximize member satisfaction & loyalty, and apply knowledge of SFPCU’s products and service strategies to meet member needs.

Must be able to:

  • Performs all FSA duties and establish new accounts, memberships including but not limited to certificates, IRA’s, static changes, name changes, stop payments, PIN changes, sharedraft orders, trouble shoot ATM/Debit card issues, handle deceased member accounts as well as fiduciary accounts.
  • Perform full loan underwriting functions, ensuring compliance with credit union policies and procedures.
  • Process membership Real Estate requests and inquiries appropriately. Interview and process loans for applicants, assessing needs and providing clear and concise information related to all credit union products and services.
  • Generate and qualify sales leads related to credit union products, services and promotions, including Member Financial Services (MFS).
  • Complete a high volume of daily activities, both phone and email based including but not limited to internal and external responses within specified time frames.
  • Package loan files in accordance to our OnBase scanning procedures.
  • Demonstrate problem resolution and form decisions based on sound and valid information.
  • Maintain cooperative and respectful interaction with members, staff, management and those working on behalf of the credit union.
  • Support and participate in any activities to ensure success within the enterprise and branch.
  • Proactively seek to improve and/or offer positive input regarding individual role, departmental or credit union processes.
  • Performs other Financial Service duties, as required including but not limited to loan and account services.
  • Perform activities/tasks related to the Bank Secrecy Act Policy which includes General Requirements, MIP, CTRs and events that may suspect suspicious activities.
  • Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge to give an effective presentation of the Credit Union’s products/services.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain rapport with members.
  • Maximize all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in the taking of market share from competitors.
  • Sell consultatively and make recommendations to new and existing, as well as perspective members of the various solutions the Credit Union offers.
  • Develop a database (via Touché) of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face, cold calling, on members.
  • Maintain accurate records (via Touché) of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities. Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year financial institution experience in a consumer lending capacity
  • One (1) year full underwriting experience preferred
  • Basic Real Estate knowledge preferred
  • Proven knowledge of all FSA and new accounts’ functions including all aspects (routine to complex) of IRA, Trust, Deceased and Small Business accounts.
  • CRM experience a plus
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy and detail orientation while multitasking
  • Self-motivated, goal oriented, dependable and adaptable to change
  • Ability to overcome high level objections and qualify leads appropriately
  • Must be able to work both independently and a teamwork environment
  • Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast pace environment
  • Comfortability with initiating outbound sales calls
  • Ability to cultivate new business and retain current membership.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, write and type on a computer keyboard and other standard office equipment.
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach, and stoop.
  • Vision and hearing within corrected range.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 10 - 25 lbs.
