The Company
Global Industrial of America, a manufacturer’s sales representative firm, is an authorized distributor of hydraulics, aerospace components, pneumatics, motion controls, thermoplastic elastomer materials, and wire and cable products and offers repair, remanufacturing and fabrication services.
We are seeking sales leaders and true entrepreneurs and previous business owners willing to earn uncapped commissions well into the six-figure range. The products that Global Industrial of America represents sell to commercial and military aircraft, intermodal railway, concrete mixer, waste management, port machinery, wind turbine, heavy duty truck, earth-moving, mining, oil well drilling industries, to name a few. You’ll partner with industry leading manufacturers to establish footprints in each of the above respective markets.
We are authorized distributors in the US and Europe for Parker , Minarik Drives, Minarik Automation and Control, Miner Elastomer, Zemarc and Coleman Cable. We hold EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTORSHIPS in the Middle East and Africa for these same manufacturers. No other distributor in the world can make that claim!
The Role
- Develop and win new business specifically targeting industrial, intermodal railway, energy, construction, commercial and military aircraft, material handling, port and deck machinery and heavy equipment markets, etc. We’ll look to you to function as a business development expert, building relationships with customers throughout your territory.
- You will also work with key distributors along with OEM and industrial accounts. In addition, you will be set up to work from home so there is some flexiblity with location. This job is ideal for someone with outside sales experience in any one of the following areas: industrial hydraulics, mobile hydraulics, truck hydraulics, aircraft, pneumatics, motion controls, automation, sensor, electrical control and elastomeric products who has a proven record of success.
- Engaging in extensive customer contact to conduct sales and service activities, including developing strong customer relationships, introducing new products, identifying product applications, and keeping customers informed of product developments.
- Become very knowledgeable on assigned product lines, striving to become a resource of solutions for assigned customers.
- Utilizing promotions, campaigns, and business contacts to seek out prospective accounts, and then introducing the company and products, establishing and cultivating a contact, and analyzing the prospect’s needs.
- Develop and implement business strategies to target new markets and maintain market share.
- Monitoring customer complaints, following up on outstanding orders.
The Person
- Bachelors’ degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering or a 2-year technical degree, preferably in Fluid Power.
- 3 to 7+ years in industrial, hydraulic, fluid power or electrical automation sales experience.
- The candidate must possess an entrepreneurial spirit, be extremely confident and a self starter.
- The candidate will have a “WILL DO” attitude, be willing to learn and want uncapped six-figure commission-based earning potential.
- Candidate must have Sales experience in the Industrial, Mobile or Truck Hydraulic Markets,. Extensive experience in either one of these fields is mandatory.
- Knowledge in Automation/Motion Control is a plus but not required.
- Thrive in developing existing markets as well as targeting new markets.
- Must be willing to acquire and maintain a solid knowledge of our products as well as of our customers' industries and applications for our products.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
Pay and Benefits
This is a 100% commission based position. Commission is based on 40% to 50% of GPM., depending on experience and performance.
