Position: Revenue/Staff Accountant
Summary
iParadigms, LLC, the makers of WriteCycle™ powered by Turnitin, is seeking a Revenue/Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team. Under general supervision of the Controller, the Revenue/Staff Accountant will work closely with Sales, Resellers, and external customers to ensure adherence to the Company’s revenue recognition policy, as well as assist in the day-to-day operations of general accounting and internal reporting in accordance with the established accounting principles, policies and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Review monthly receivables, deferred revenue, and revenue reconciliation analysis.
Identify and implement system improvements related to revenue recognition and billing.
Provide analytical revenue and accounts receivable management reporting.
Assist Controller with month end close process, including preparation of journal entries, bank accounts reconciliation, invoice accruals, account analysis, and fixed assets maintenance.
Prepare analysis and supporting schedules for interim management reports, board reports, quarterly reviews, and year-end audits.
Assist with miscellaneous tax filings.
Interface with managers and staff within the organization as well as auditors and other external organizations in such a way as to demonstrate a cooperative and knowledgeable attitude without compromising established company controls and procedures.
Work with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff to ensure department efficiency.
Help create, update and implement policies and procedures to improve department efficiency, internal controls, and streamline the monthly close process.
Qualifications
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
▪ Must have knowledge of GAAP, general accounting concepts, and practices
▪ Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing system and procedure improvements
▪ Ability to interact with all levels of staff and excel both independently and as part of a team
▪ Strong accounting, analytical, organizational and multi-tasking skills
▪ Effective verbal and written communication skills
▪ Strong interpersonal skills with focus on resolving issues timely
▪ Experience with SOP 97-2, EITF 00-3, EITF 99-19, and accounting for revenue in a services and software organization preferred
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a minimum of three years accounting experience within high volume, deadline-driven environment.
Computer Skills
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Quickbooks or other accounting software, Microsoft Word and Excel. Salesforce or other CRM software is strongly preferred.
