Chief Ultrasound Technologist with RDCS, RVT and RDMS

Due to our expansion we are currently seeking a Chief Technologist/Lead Sonographer to oversee a staff of 8-10 technicians. The position is in Los Angeles but we will consider relocation.

Chief Technologist

Summary

Manage all clinical operations of department including, but not limited to, equipment, personnel, scheduling, financial and customer service functions.

Primary Responsibilities

Operational

1. Develop, implement and maintain programs and procedures, such as operating, safety and quality; ensure and maintain standards; determine cause of variances or inabilities to meet established targets; create operational adjustments to ensure that targets are met.

2. Develop, maintain and evaluate customer-scheduling procedures; ensure that all personnel are properly trained on equipment and competent in its use. Evaluate and recommend supplies, equipment and technologies; provide justification and prioritization of such needs; order procedural and operational supplies.

3. Ensure documentation and compliance for local, state and federal regulations including HIPAA.

4. Maintain liaison with physicians, personnel, and staff to resolve problems and to advise concerning technical procedures, techniques, and equipment.

5. Work inter- and intra-departmentally to resolve customer concerns or complaints.

6. Represent the department on various committees, at meetings and conferences.

7. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to personnel management. Ensure that Company guidelines, work rules and personnel policies are understood and applied to staff.

8. Oversee all personnel functions including, but not limited to, hiring, evaluations, promotions, disciplinary actions, and scheduling; manage and review work schedules and assignments. Ensure that all employees are properly oriented, trained, and up to date with annual competencies, certifications, and licensure and education requirements.

9. Plan, develop and provide continuing education and training for technical staff.

Budgetary

1. Responsible for personnel budget including, but not limited to, overtime and flex time expenses; assist in budget preparation through recommendations and projections for staffing and equipment needs.

2. Evaluate new equipment and provide recommendations for necessity of capital equipment purchases.

3. Oversee and ensure that exams and supplies are coded correctly and charged to maximize reimbursement.

Requirements

Four plus years supervisory experience (can be lead, supervisor, manager, chief, director, etc)

Registered in Echo (RDCS or RCS) and Vascular (RVT or RCS) is REQUIRED, RDMS a plus. (Can be dual registered either ARDMS or CCI)

BS degree a plus
